Breaking God’s Law

Scripture

  • Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
  • Romans 2:6-7 – “He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey u righteousness, there will be wrath and fury.”
  • Galatians 5:17-21 – “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.   • Numbers 32:23 – “But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out.”

Jesus Removes the Power and Consequences of Your Sin

  • Psalm 103:12 – “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”
  • Isaiah 43:25 – “I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.”
  • Isaiah 53:6 – “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
  • Romans 4:7-8 – “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
