Read a Poem Out Loud

Using rhythmic poetry is pleasing to the ear and catches the attention of those who pass by. Fill your poems with rich truths from scripture.

The Light
Jesus is the light, He you cannot fight.
Listen to your Lord, for Hell, you can’t afford.
(Levi age 6 with help from dad)

Grace and Mercy
If God gave us justice, we’d all end up in Hell.
So turn to Christ, our Lord and Savior, where grace and mercy dwell.

Life
Eternal life is a gift. No payment you can make.
Do not try to earn God’s favor, or eternal death you’ll take.

Rescue
You say you’ve never murdered. You’ve never robbed a store.
You’re “not so bad” to get God’s wrath, but it’s knocking at your door.
It’s knocking if you’ve lied and if you’ve lusted too.
Only Christ’s sacrifice can ever rescue you.

All Roads
It’s true what heathens say, “to God leads every path.”
But only one leads to His goodness, all others to His wrath.

The Cup
When the perfect life of Christ expired on a tree,
The sinless, spotless lamb of God, drank the cup for me.
What was in the cup, that Jesus fully drank?
It was the bitter wrath of God, so He, I daily thank.”

Victory
I’m here to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God’s Son.
He bled and died that we might live; the victory HE won.

Abide
Do not try to run from God. Do not try to hide.
Go to Him through Jesus Christ and forever you’ll abide.

Don’t Hide
There’s nowhere to hide,
So you might just abide.
(Levi age 6)

Hatred
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, so many hate that name.
But only He can save your soul. This is not a game.

Flee to Christ
Pack your Bags, abandon your home in Adam,
Christ gives you robes instead of rags.

City of Christ
Flee to the ‘City of Christ,’ it’s borders are open to you.
Abandon your home in Adam, come rest in Christ the New.

Breaking God’s Law

Scripture

  • Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
  • Romans 2:6-7 – “He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey u righteousness, there will be wrath and fury.”
  • Galatians 5:17-21 – “For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
  • Numbers 32:23 – “But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out.”
  • Galatians 6:7 – “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”

Statements

  • God’s rules, called Laws (or commandments) have GREAT and TERRIBLE consequences attached to them for when someone breaks them
  • Jesus was the ultimate rule keeper; we are the ultimate rule breakers

  • Romans 10:9-10 – “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
  • Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

  • John 11:25-26 – “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?'”
