Group 16 Natural

The Natural Man

  • Genesis 5:1-3 – “This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.”
  • Genesis 6:5,13 – “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. // And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. • Psalm 43:1-3 – “Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me! Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!”
  • Matthew 15:18-19 – “But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.”
  • Galatians 5:19-21 – “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven. I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. “

The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.”
  • Galatians 4:4-7 – “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. • Galatians 5:16-17 – “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. • 1 John 1:8-10; 3:9 – “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. • 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 – “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.'”
  • Romans 8:21-23 – “that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
